Malechowo

Malechowo, Koszalin district, a hoard of 3 gold coins and a gold ring found before 1826 by accident under a block  of granite. The deposit consisted of two →solidi: a Theodosius II, struck at Ravenna, or possibly, Milan, and a Zeno, struck at Constantinople, a barbarous, presumably →Ostrogothic imitation of an Anastasius I solidus, and a gold wire ring. The deposit is thought to date to the first half of the 6th century.

The hoard was purchased by the Society for Pomeranian and Ancient History (Gesellschaft für Pommersche Geschichte und Alterthumskunder) in Szczecin (then Stettin). The coins are at present in keeping of the National Museum in Szczecin.
