Conference on climate changes held in Gdańsk

Held 17-19 June 2015 at the University of Gdańsk, the international conference on  Climate variability and human impacts in Central and Eastern Europe in the last two millennia (http://www.climate2k.ug.edu.pl/) was attended by nearly 100 participants from 14 countries. The conference took place under the auspices of PAGES (Past Global Changes) international project as part of Euro-Med2k Working Group and the Polish-Swiss Research Programme CLIMPOL (Climate of northern Poland during the last 1000 years.: Constraining the future with the past) directed, on Polish side, by dr. hab. Wojciech Tylmann, professor of the University of Gdańsk, Department of Geomorphology and Quaternary Geology  http://www.kmk.umk.pl/badania/granty-mnisw-i-inne/projekty-realizowane-obecnie/15-climate-of-northern-poland-during-the-last-1000-years-constraining-the-future-with-the-past-climpol. In their paper: Demographic changes during the first millennium AD and their impact on vegetation cover in north-western Poland (see abstract) MPOV Project Team members dr Anna Pędziszewska, dr Joanna Święta-Musznicka, dr Marcelina Zimny and prof. dr hab. Małgorzata Latałowa reported on the results of research made as part of the National Science Centre Maestro grant “Migration Period between Odra and Vistula”.
