Conference in Vilnius, 2012

On 8-9th November 2012 there was the conference was held in Vilnius. The was already the 7th meeting organised to commemorate Jonas Puzinas. The conference was organised by the Institute of Archaeology at the University of Vilnius. This time it was dedicated to Professor Mykolas Michelbertas due to his retirement. The professor has been honored by the Director of the National Archaeological Museum with the medal, which was given to him by Dr. Anna Bitner Wróblewska.

During the conference we could hear the lectures of the colleagues from Lithuania, Latvia and Poland. In the first evening there was common dinner planned, which was also the opportunity to make a personal congratulation and small talk with the outgoing retired professor.

Although Vilnius welcomed us typical rainy autumn, the aura did not stop us from visiting Vilnius Rasos cemetery. Due to the upcoming celebration of the anniversary of the independence of Poland, a group of Poles did cleanup work at the tomb of Marshal Pilsudski.
